Boom Boom, Shake the Room!

The nice recyclable packaging and box from Sony says it all- "Live Life Loud". This is one heavy portable speaker. It measured 3kg on my scales, so do not drop this on your foot! Measured 32cm long x 13.5cm depth and 13cm tall with the flush mounted handle flat. When the handle pulls out for carrying, it is about 18cm tall. The AC adaptor with a USB-C charge end is 1.5m long which is nice. This speaker has the typical high quality Sony finish. Solid! The speaker is covered in a nice cloth covered mesh with the 6.1cm x 6.8cm woofers paced at either end of its cylindrical form.It sits on 2 flat rubber feet which prevent it from moving or rolling away! 2 small sections for the clearly marked buttons placed just below each side of the carry handle. Easy to turn on/off and adjust the volume. Can also turn on the "Mega Bass" function and turn on Bluetooth for pairing etc from here. It is worth knowing that this speaker is IP67 waterproof and dust proof so perfect to withstand party spills in the home and splash back by the swimming pool or a heavy shower if outside.Suitable for BBQ's or beaches! Impressive. Makes this speaker much more versatile and care free. Another nice touch are the adjustable lights at either end of the speaker which encircle the woofers. Can be set up to pulse in time with the music, continually change colours or if you want have no colour lighting at all. All controlled from the easy to use Sony "Music Centre" app. The inbuilt battery provides an incredible 25 hours of continuous music play. And just 10 minutes of charge can provide 70 minutes of music play! Very impressive again. Pairing by Bluetooth by pressing the button on the speaker takes just seconds and can pair to multiple devices at the same time, so you can change from one device to another without having to re-pair. It will only play music from one device at a time of course. It has a 30m bluetooth range. The app will allow you to connect up to 100 similar or future Sony BT speakers-"Party Connect" At the back of the device you have a sealed socket port with stiff rubber waterproof flap which hides a USB-A socket so you can charge another device, stereo mini in-jack,USB-C charge port and a small button to manually control the speaker lights. Now for the sound: LOUD! This speaker deserves the Mega Bass function. This speaker will really make the room shake. Very clear overall and has the typical Sony "warm sound". My only criticism is that the mid tones can get a little "muddy" and lost in the bass heavy sound, but that is not a problem for a "party"speaker. I did not think it would play well with classical music but I was rather impressed.Great clarity and enough width to give good separation. Being portable, you can easily move the speaker around a room and in different places of a room to get the sound just right, if needed. A definite benefit of a portable Bluetooth speaker over conventional book shelf or floor standers. The app is fully featured, allowing you to wirelessly plug in to your music library, in my case, on my iPhone, create playlists, choose albums or you can ignore the app and just control everything from the iPhone Music app. All in all, another superb Sony speaker.

Amaxing sound and build quality

Have been using this for a couple of weeks now. It is SUPERB. Firstly download the Sony music centre app which will help setting the different sounds. The mega bass is incredible especially with dance music. Play Insomnia by Faithless full blast and you will think you are in a nightclub! Set up is very simple and the blutooth connection is great. Handle is well designed and makes it easy to carry. Rear section for charging is well hidden. Quality of materials used is top notch with everything feeling very expensive. Graphic equaliser on the Sony music app allows you to set up your own sound but i prefer the mega bass or the clear which are both preset. Volume control is from your phones volume control which is great. I haven't tried connecting more than one but I am sure the sound would be brilliant. Battery life is very good and I have had it running for a good 10 hours. Charging from dead took me about 3 hours which is impressive. Have took a couple of phone calls through the speaker and both the caller and I had no probmems with the volume or quality of the call. I have used it inside and outdoors and it fillls a large hall well but understandably is a little less effective outdoors. I only have two issues the frst being the weight. At 3kg I am not sure it can be classed as portable . The second is the lights at each end. They have presets via the app so I put it on rave in a pitch black room. The lights are the only real disappointment. I know they would run down the battery but either make them brighteror remove them all together. I would highly recommend this to anybody, my brother in law has already bought one after seeing mine. Yes it isn't the cheapest on the market but you get what you pay for as I have found with the numerous Sony products I have.

Peu utilisée pour le moment, donc non "poussée", la sonorité est claire et assez puissante pour une grande pièce ou en extérieur. Connexion immédiate avec n'importe quel appareil (smartphone, ampli, ordinateur, TV). La fonction bass boost pourrait avoir des niveaux différents, car de base elles sont suffisantes, mais trop prononcées (écrase les autres fréquences) une fois le mode actif. Sans doute pour compenser la dispersion en extérieur.

I bought this 3 weeks ago from the airport to enjoy music in the hotel room, it is great, good bass, excellent sound, battery lasts ages, when got home we could turn it up louder and still very impressed, would definitely recommend

When I compared this model with others like Marshall and jbl I thought it had better sound in the same category. I realized when I received and really tried it out that for the price there was going to be limitations to really how great it would sound bc this is not an expensive speaker and what can you expect ? My ultimate thought was , why buy the newer replacement when I can get this at a much reduced price with very likely the same quality tweeters and wolfer . After all how can they really improve things these days unless they drastically up the quality of the functioning parts and that means the price goes up significantly and it doesn't in the replacement. In the end I like it. It puts a great vibe wherever I carry it. Buy it, you won't be sorry.

Sounded fantastic but let down by its battery

I’ve always purchased Sony as I thought they were an above average manufacturer. I’d had this speaker for about 3 months and thought the battery life wasn’t as good as my other speakers I own. It was confirmed when charging it one day I could smell an electrical burning smell and smoke emanating so I quickly turned it off. I took the speaker back to curry’s where I purchased it and was told it needed to go back to Sony for replacement or repair. I waited about 3 weeks to then be told that Sony would not touch it as the charge port was damaged. I’m very disappointed with Sony and will probably steer away from buying their products in the future.

+ Firstly good sound stage ,but quite a directional setup. Nice design ,with a good quality fit and finish. Good LDAC / Bluetooth performance. - No charger supplied, only a "white" USB type C to C cable with a black product? USB C cable doesn't support fast data only fast charge(minor gripe) Battery is supposed to last 25 hours, that is a huge overestimation. Currently seeing around 8 Hours depending on volume level and settings. Overall good quality Sony product with poor battery life.

I was extremely happy with my Sony SRS-XG300 speaker until, after 14 months of light use, the power button suddenly became unresponsive without warning. This issue rendered the speaker unusable, as the power button is essential for operation. I attempted all recommended troubleshooting steps, including holding the power button for about 8 seconds to restart the speaker ([helpguide.sony.net](https://helpguide.sony.net/speaker/srs-xg300/v1/en/contents/TP1000669933.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com)), but to no avail. Fortunately, I purchased the speaker from Amazon.fr, which offers a two-year warranty. However, having relocated to Budapest for work, returning the product to France poses logistical challenges. I will need to wait until the holidays to return to France for the exchange and incur additional expenses for a larger suitcase on my flight. I wish there were options to have it repaired or replaced here in Hungary. I miss my Sony SRS-XG300 and look forward to using it again.

Guter Sound. Das Gerät ist auch nicht zu schwer und angenehm zu tragen. Gut ist auch das über die Sony Music Center App einfach Soundeinstellungen vorgenommen werden können, dies gilt auch für Einstellungen der Beleuchtung und des Strommodus. Es ist bisher auch die einzige Soundbox die ich hatte bei der eine Einstellung zum Akku schonen vorhanden ist ( Laden nur bis 90%). Die Beleuchtung kann in verschiedenen Modis eingestellt werden. Der Live Sound gefällt mir gut, es hört sich wirklich fast so an als wäre man live dabei. Der Bass könnte trotz extra Bass noch etwas mehr sein. Aber alles in allem eine sehr gute Soundbox für den Preis.

Sorry Sony, hübsches Teil, tolle Verarbeitung, auch ordentlich laut aber der Ton wirkt ( im Vergleich mit einem Bose sondlink Mini) röhrig und etwas blechern. Somit ging die Box wieder zurück.

I bought this for myself as a birthday present last august and it is amazing. The sound quality is phenomenal. I love heavy rock and the bass is the best I've heard on a mobile speaker. The battery does last 25 hrs.

I bought this as a way to have music in a classic car without having to alter any wiring or cut holes in the trim. It works as expected and as described in the product info. In my opinion the product could be improved by allowing Bluetooth connection to a device such as a mp3/media player instead of restricting Bluetooth connection to just smart phones.

Amateur de (presque) toutes les musiques, y compris baroque et classique, je me demandais si cette enceinte me conviendrait pour des écoutes improvisées en campagne et en montagne. La réponse est oui, absolument. La restitution sonore est globalement bonne, les basses agréables notamment pour le jazz ou le blues. Enfin, ce qui ne gâche rien, il y a l’esthétique épurée signée Sony. Bref, un bon achat.

I bought this product a few weeks ago. It is very portable and stylish. Sound quality is excellent, the bass keeps the heart pumping. When doing presentations that has voice or music gives it the edge that is needed. I enjoy using this product and could be linked with other bluetooth speakers to give exceptional sound experience.

Il diffusore wireless XG-300 è un ottimo prodotto, alta qualità del suono, grazie alla compatibilità con il codec LDAC e dei materiali, molto buona la durata della batteria, il design è davvero elegante anche grazie alla maniglia a scomparsa, ho notato che lo sportellino posteriore si chiude, ma dopo un po' il bordo fuoriesce leggermente da solo, comunque poco male dato che lo utilizzo a casa e con l'alimentatore collegato alla rete

The sound quality is not good, to say the least, very far from Jbl quality, so bad I'm now hardly using it. Tried several locations in the living room, hardly any improvement. And the product is far to heavy to call it portable. Very disappointed.

Great looking speaker, quality clear sound with deep bass, good projection of sound, easy set up and functions, amazing battery life, dust proof & waterproof is a great benefit (not tried), telephone Bluetooth is good. Only 1 con would be the weight for some people, but feels well built and sturdy.

I was not really looking to get this but investigating Hi-Fi and turntables but ended up buying it as a pair with the bluetooth turntable. Works great with it. Good Points: 1) Happy with the build quality and solid weight 2) Good quality sound with 'Mega Bass' bottom. Volume & Bluetooth controls also good 3) Music Centre app always remote control and linking with other apps and even linking multiple speakers so interesting 4) Lighting is nice feature along with thumbing speaker. Note the user can also control the lights in the "Music Centre" app switching off if listening quietly at night etc 5) Powers on quick 6) Has internal battery so is portable and not dependant on mains, but also has cable and charger. 7) Useful connections :USB/Audio in. 8) Physical 'Lights' and 'Battery Info' button and USB-C charging port on back 9) Pretty stable feet with carry handle that folds down well Bad Points: i) Speakers at the ends are lovely looking but I would be worried that they may be too exposed & easily damaged ii) Cylinder shape and weight could result in rollling if it was bumped hard ? iii) Quiet expensive iv) Should come standard with a carry case to protect speakers at ends v) Should have mini remote so different people can use without tied to a paired phone

Ik kocht deze omdat mijn oude soundbar 2 ook. Van jbl en philips. Elke keer geen geluid willen spelen. Dus oplossing naar de Sony en ook gelezen in soundbar kwaliteit. Vertrouwen in het merk gekregen en kocht XG-300 koppelde het aan de tv. Geluid komt zuiver en sterk naar wens tijdens een film kijken prima naar mijn oren. Sony heeft mij prima geholpen.

I've just brought this sony xg300 Bluetooth speaker and I've got to say the sound it puts out is amazing, decent clean deep soft bass, smooth midrange and sweet treble, it also has a lot of weight to the speaker itself.
