I bought this camera about a month ago, so these are just initial comments without a great deal of use. Let's get the single dislike out of the way. The placement of the SD card beggars belief. These cards have a small indentation at the bottom of the card on one side so that you can use a fingernail to help extracting it. When installed, the orientation of the card means that the indentation is covered. To get the card out, you have to point the base of the camera downwards and hope that the spring eject throws the card out. Grunt over. I bought the camera to replace a bridge camera that I found too big and cumbersome and wanted something that would be, potentially, pocketable. The camera is exactly what I wanted. A small, relatively lightweight camera that is capable of taking good photos (in the right hands). To say that the features are comprehensive is an understatement and I'm still in the process of familiarising myself with them. Once I feel comfortable and confident with its performance, my plan is to add a macro or short zoom lens (maybe both) to add to the kit lens that came with the camera. Overall, I'm really pleased with my purchase. I'd spent some time researching the options that suited my criteria and the A6400 kept on coming to the top of the list. I bought the camera from a local retailer (WEX, Norwich) and I left feeling confident that I would not be disappointed. Looking forward to getting out and about with the camera without getting shoulder ache.

Sono soddisfatto al momento della mia nuova camera e spero di non avere sorprese in seguito. Sono invece molto deluso per il trasferimento dei file perchè non si riesce a trasferire il raw tramite wifi e l'applicazione non è a mio avviso una delle migliori. Provengo da Pentax e Olympus e il trasferimento avveniva velocemente e senza problemi.

Bought the camera just before Christmas. The camera is great and takes some fantastic photos even with the Kit lens. I would have given the camera 5 stars, but the issue is uploading the photos on the software which is far from simple, especially when compared with my Canon R5 MKII

Outstanding camera with a wealth of features, too long a list to mention but the adjustable display screen is the outstanding feature. Superb in bright sunlight and very flexible with the ability to use it at different angles. A pleasant surprise as I didn't realise it had that feature, I assumed the screen was fixed as on my older camera. The best thing about the camera itself, apart from the excellent build quality, is the ability to take outstanding photos even in auto mode, perfect for the quick snapshot and perfect for people like myself who are not experts with the wealth of features available. Only gripe is the software could be a little more intuitive. The Creators Cloud app isn't available for this camera and manually transferring your photos by memory card still seems to be the easiest way to do it, which sems strange in 2026 unless I'm missing a trick.

Great camera for a beginner

I'm brand new to the photography world, and it's something I've always wanted to get into, so I decided that 2026 would be the year I finally pursue it as a new hobby. After doing some research and visiting my local camera shop, I settled on the Sony A6400. It's a beautiful camera with a great weight to it, and while the menu system is initially quite detailed, it's surprisingly intuitive once you spend a bit of time with it. Ergonomically, it feels great in the hand, and it's very easy to start shooting right away. I managed to get a great deal on the A6400 with the 16–50mm kit lens, which is perfect for learning the basics and experimenting with different kinds of shots. So far, I'm really impressed with the features, the image quality, and how user-friendly the whole setup is.

Nachdem ich in dieser Klasse viele Kameras z.B. Nikon Z 50, Canon R 10, R50 Panasonic G91 und mehr getestet habe, und mit der Bildqualität nie zufrieden war habe ich mein Ziel jetzt erreicht. Bel corpo macchina ma obiettivo pessimo. Purtroppo Sony regala in pacchetto un obiettivo che sarebbe meglio averlo decurtato dal prezzo del tutto perché è letteralmente inutile. Il buono inoltre di 100X3 vale solo per obiettivi praticamente inaccessibili. Sono costretto ad acquistare un obiettivo di altra marca che però è recensito molto bene altrimenti non posso utilizzare in maniera neppure amatoriale il tutto.

J'ai acheté ce produit le mois dernier. Peut-être n'est il pas livré avec le dernier firmware mais je ne trouve pas la fonction [Non réglé] dans le menu. J'ai beau chercher je ne la trouve pas, elle est pourtant mentionnée dans le manuel. A ce propos je ne trouve pas que le manuel soit bien pratique

“The fastest focusing system”

Brought myself up to date after parting with my 13 year old camera. That was a very good 10mp Panasonic. I have to say there is a learning curve to cope with because the A6400 is very sophisticated indeed. The lack of legible operating procedures and instructions is a minus point for Sony. The major plus point is the extremely fast focusing system and image quality. Had to “buy” a book to learn how to use it. Not happy about that.

Obwohl die Kamera bereits in die Jahre gekommen ist, ist sie immer noch eine durchaus interessante Alternative für Personen denen die 6700 zu teuer ist. Für Hobbyfotografen durchaus ausreichend. Man muss sich etwas einlesen um alles zu verstehen. Da es sich für mich um meine Zweitkamera handelt kann ich alle Objektive und Akkus weiter verwenden.
