Good camera, but with focus weaknesses

Good camera with sharp pictures when it can focus on the target properly, but the problem with many of these types of cameras are that you need to manually focus on objects. That becomes troublesome when you know what object you want to focus on but the camera doesn't. No amount of setting around with exposure or scene selection will allow to focus on precise things that you want to get them clear in view for a sharp shot. They will be photoed blurry. What would help like mobile phones where you have a touchscreen and you can tap on the object on your display image for the camera to manually focus on that image and provide a sharp view on your display. So it doesn't matter that the camera has excellent automatic scene recognition, exposure, brightness, colour, contrast and vividity, if your not able to focus exactly on what you want in the environment then your going to get blurry photos.

Nice camera but no wireless transfer!

I bought this a few years ago mainly because it has a viewfinder - so you can see what you're taking even on na sunny day? It's a nice little camera but recently I decided to start transferring images wirelessly to computer instead of messing about with a card reader - only to find the necessary app (SonyPlayMemories) was discontinued a year ago. So sadly I can't recommend and have reflected this in the design rating.

I take this camera on all my travels , and the view finder is the icing on the cake, no worries in bright sunlight trying to see on the display , just pop the button and use the viewfinder .

The Sony HX90V is not the perfect camera, if ever that even exist. But Sony managed to give the photographer extremely important aspects in just one camera. The true pocket size, the true long super zoom, a true electronic viewfinder, a true twist high definition lcd, and a true colorful and crispy image processing. Wonder camera.

Habe das Gerät schon länger. Alles Gut, aussser: Software für Chipkarte ungenügend. Fotos können nicht von Karte auf Computer verschoben werden, es würden nur schwarze Originale bleiben, die dann separat gelöscht werden müssen. Die Fotos müssen kopiert und dann separat auf dem Fotoapparat gelöscht werden. Das finde ich unangenehm. Auf dem Vorgängermodell H70 war dies gut gelöst. Auch unangenehm ist, dass man nach dem Wechseln der Szenenwahl usw. immer auf den Aufnahmeknopf drücken muss. Bei der DSC H70 war dies besser gelöst.

Good value for money

I already have Sony RX 100 Mark 3, Mark 5, mark 6 and Sony a6000 with various lenses. One of the things that I miss is Sony abandoning the apps that was so good on the mark 3 and the a6000 why did Sony do this they will wonderful and the best feature of the cameras. I bought the new Sony the hx 90v primarily because of the zoom and the convenience of carrying a lighter cheaper version of the RX100 with me I'm not disappointed good camera

De camera al een aantal jaren geleden 2e hands aangeschaft. Erg fijn reiscamera met veel mogelijkheden en de beelden zijn van een goede kwaliteit. Vooral de gps mogelijkheid waardeer ik zeer. Onlangs nog me verdiept in de bracketfunctie ook erg fijn.

Très bon compromis qualité - prix. boitier compact, peu encombrant, relativement léger, se glisse dans une poche. Solide, batterie toujours en forme. Bon zoom optique x 30 même si on perd un peu en netteté en zoom numérique x 120. 18.2 MP. optique ZEISS.

Design Faults

I am happy continuing to use this camera. It’s has design faults however. 1. I have just again lost the case for it. The case is fastened but two popper buttons which are insufficient. At least one of them need to be screw-in. Then the case will not fall off in busy places where its loss is not noticed in the rush and bustle. Twice this has happened and replaced event is not cheap. This feature is very annoying, but so easy for Sony to fix. 2. The battery charging socket is very difficult to use. It has to be held open at the same time as holding the camera and inserting the cable plus. 3. The power on/off switch is too small, requiring a nail tip to use. Why can’t it be an obvious switch like other functions on the camera. I hope Sony is not deaf to these points.

Mit dieser Sony Kamera bin ich vollkommen unzufrieden. Sie wirkt billig verarbeitet, schwer zu bedienende Einstellelemente, bei der Features per WLAN nur hakelig bis gar nicht funktionieren. Das Display spiegelt schon bei geringer Sonneneinstrahlung stark.

Als Nachfolger für mein Vorgängermodell DSC-HX60V habe ich mir dieses Modell angeschafft. Es hat ebenfalls GPS und ein starkes Objektiv, ist dabei allerdings etwas dünner, was ich sehr zu schätzen weiß. Einen Vorteil sehe ich in dem klappbaren Display, welches sehr gut für Selfies ist. Die Bildstabilisierung für Videos ist klasse. Ähnliche Schwierigkeiten wie bei der HX60V hat der Autofokus bei schwierigen Lichtverhältnissen. Außerdem gibt es deutlich weniger Apps zu kaufen als für das Vorgängermodell. Das finde ich schade. Fernsteuerung per Handy und manuelle Einstellmöglichkeiten sowie GPS machen das kleine Gerät sehr interessant.

Ich habe die Kamera schon eine ganze Zeit und bin sehr zufrieden mit ihr. Die Qualität der Bilder ist sehr gut (Zeiss-Optik eben), sie hat alles was man braucht (Blitz, Sucher, großes Display). Lediglich das Menü ist etwas umständlich zu bedienen (z.B. Selbstauslöser, ISO-Einstellung) und es fehlt im SCN-Menü eine Macro-Funktion.

Ich habe diese Kamera bereits einige Jahre. Sie bietet eine große Palette von Bedienmöglichkeiten, von Vollautomatisch bis manuell. Dadurch kann man unter den verschiedensten und auch schwierigen Bedingungen gute Fotos machen. Allerdings erfordert das fotografisches Wissen und Beschäftigung mit der Kamera. Wenn man es nicht regelmäßig macht, ist der Zeitbedarf für die Wahl der passendsten Einstellung ziemlich hoch. Sehr praktisch und auch recht einfach ist die Fernsteuerung über das Handy, die nicht nur tolle Selfies ermöglicht, sondern auch Tierfotografie aus der Deckung. Ein Mini-Stativ sollte man immer mithaben, schon um die großen Brennweiten nutzen zu können.

La performance du zoom est moyenne, la qualité de la photo n'est bonne que pour des cibles à mi-distance, au delà l'image est floue. Prises en intérieur, le soir notamment à la lumière électrique, la qualité de l'image laisse aussi à désirer .

Seit 04/21 im Einsatz. Bereitschaftszeit und Bildqualität i.O. Aufnahmen gelingen auch bei großer Brennweite aus der Hand. Gut ist die Möglichkeit, schon unterwegs aufs Smartphone zu laden. Leider wird der Standort häufig nicht zugeordnet (trotz Gelände mit Satellitensicht und ohne Veränderung der Einstellungen). Generell würde ich es begrüßen, wenn Dateinamen von "DSC..." auf Datums- u. Zeitangabe (wie bei Android) umgestellt würden. Damit wäre bessere Zusammenführung von Bildern aus verschiedenen Quellen möglich.

Ich benutze die Kamera seit ca. einem halben Jahr und bin im großen und ganzen mit ihr zufrieden. Bildqualität ist für mich als Hobbyfotograf sehr gut und die Funktionalität nutze ich nicht aus. Aufnahmen im Nahbereich sind sehr gut, im Zoombereich hat die Kamera kleine Probleme. Der Zoom ist etwas schwierig beherrschbar, kleinste Bewegungen des Hebel haben einen großen Zoom zur Folge und im großen bis maximalen Zoom ist die Fokussierung nicht gut.

Vor drei Jahren gekauft und nicht bereut. Immer schnell zur Hand, tolle Auflösung auch mit dem 30x Zoom. Hier ist der digitale Sucher spitze. Verbesserungswürdig ist der zu kleine Ein-/Ausschaltknopf sowie die Reaktionszeit beim Ein- und Ausschalten. Trotzdem super als Begleiter beim Motorradfahren.

I bought the HX90 about 18 months ago. Previously I was using a HX60 which is great. The HX90 has two other advantages: 1 The EV finder - beats the problem of screen reflections when the sun is behind me. 2 The tiltable screen - extends photographic compositions and avoids needing to kneel down to capture rectilinear shots.

Je suis ou j'ai été possesseur de : DSC-HX20v, DSC-HX50v, DSC-HX60v, Optique "G" , ... (problème de flash H.S. avec tous) Je pensais avoir une qualité "top" avec l'optique Zeiss , déception, le "piqué" de l'image n'y est plus par rapport avec les appareils précédents équipés de l'optique Sony "G". Pour le reste c'est OK, petit, maniable, polyvalent, télé, macro, ... ... rien à reprocher. Peut-être suis-je trop exigeant mais je dois l'être si j'achète du "Sony" ou du "Zeiss"

C'est on 3ème Sony HX90V. Points forts : les nombreuses possibilités de réglage, l'autonomie de la batterie, l'extraordinaire zoom optique, le viseur rétro éclairé et la puissance du Flash. La qualité de l'image est bonne mais la luminosité en automatique et surtout en mode contre jour est trop sombre. En outre, même en contre-jour il y a souvent des reflets de prisme que le logiciel de l'appareil ne corrige pas, même quand il prend trois photos pour les fusionner par la suite. Lorsqu'il y a peu de lumière, pas toujours évident de trouver rapidement le mode qui permet d'éviter des mouvements flous. Appareil un peu fragile aussi, surtout au niveau du zoom et de l'optique

Diese kleine Kamera ist für mich mein Allzweckwerkzeug zum Fotografieren. Handlich ist sie, leicht zu bedienen und macht für meine Augen sehr gute Fotos. Wenn ich unterwegs bin, habe ich sie nahezu immer dabei und bin immer "schuss"bereit.

Ik heb deze camera aangeschaft omdat ik het beu was om met lenzen te slepen. Deze camera is een zeer goed alternatief omdat ik hetzelfde resultaat bereik. Ik heb voor mijn spiegelreflexcamera €100 gekregen maar toen ik op internet zag dat mijn net nieuw gekochte camera €100 goedkoper had moeten zijn heb ik het idee dat ik op z'n plat gezegd bij de poot genomen ben. Dus voordat je koopt bij een camerawinkel in Wolvega kijk eerst ff op internet!

Ik heb deze camera voor de 2e keer aangeschaft. Eerder kocht ik hem 3 1/2 jaar geleden. Die is stuk gegaan (de lens ging grof vertekenen). Ik heb ook nog een spiegelreflex van Canon. Maar ik kan niet buiten deze camera. Omdat hij ook als enige GPS-registratie heeft en gezien de groothoek en prima lens moest ik hem er toch weer bij hebben. Stop hem gemakkelijk in mijn zak.

I bought it a few weeks ago. This nice box has so many possibilities that it requires a 393 pages French user manual. I understand only part of the explanations ... and I still only use, with success, the all-automatic mode and the zoom. Note that I'have been taking picture for a very long time with simpler - and good - cameras. I would like to take training on this device. Where can I find a trainer ?

Nach einer längeren Pause habe ich mich wieder einmal zum Kauf einer "Traveller"-Kamera entschlossen. Seit einigen Tagen im Urkaub habe ich nunmehr knapp 200 Bilder gemacht und die meisten behalten. Die Detailtreue finde ich sehr gut und auch im Telemodus akzeptabel. Einzig an manche filigrane Ausstattung muss ich mich noch gewöhnen. So z.B. sieht der Sucher sehr gebrechlich aus und wäre als fester Sucher besser zu handeln, zumal dass Display bei Sonne nicht gut zu gebrauchen ist. Die Kamera enttäuscht nicht und ist trotz ihrer geringen Größe leicht zu bedienen. Das Einstellmenü ist gut strukturiert und für den Fortgeschrittenen leicht verständlich. Fazit: Gute Immerdabeikamera.

Dit is mijn tweede compactcamera van Sony en op zich ben ik er wel tevreden over, maar ik wel problemen gehad met de externe geheugenkaart. De camera blijkt problemen te hebben met het wegschrijven van foto's op een geheugenkaart van SanDisk SDXC Extreme Pro 128GB 170mb / 90mb U3 V30. We hebben in de winkel diverse uitvoeringen van deze kaart geprobeerd, maar het probleem bleef bestaan. Nu werk ik met een SanDisk Extreme Pro 32 GB 95 MB/s en dat gaat gelukkig wel goed.

I bought this camera to replace a Nikon S9700 that I had for several years. I wanted a camera with integrated GPS, good optical zoom, and a small size. After a lot of comparison, I went with it - although the model is few years old, I don't regret the choice. It is a really great compact camera - full of feature. It works very well and produce excellent pictures.

Sehr viele Einstellungen für Fotografie möglich. Der Zoom ist toll. Mit Stativ sehr gute Filmaufnahmen mit vollem Zoom möglich. Sehr kompakt aber dennoch nich zu klein. Der optische Sucher ist auch klasse. Habe den Kauf auf keinen Fall bereut. Zweiter Accu mit Travelladegerät ist sehr zu empfehlen. Das Travelladegerät ist winzig, kaum größer als der Accu selbst und mit USB micro Anschluss. Absolute Kaufempfehlung!
