While everything about this lens is to be liked - there is one particular problem that is pretty annoying. There is loads of purple fringing in high contrast areas. To go for a 2.8 is way out of my means, the reviews that I had read before making this selection is that you lose 1 stop of light compared to f2.8 but everything else is comparable. Not saying regretting the decision but when you pay over a grand you expect the native lens to stand head and shoulders above similar 3rd party lenses

Ho preferito questa prima versione rispetto al nuovo f/4 GII Macro perché ha la zoomata interna, inoltre non ero interessato né alla funzione macro né alla possibilità di moltiplicarlo. Confidando nella proverbiale qualità Sony, pur sapendo che avrei pagato lo scotto di una QI leggermente inferiore rispetto al nuovo modello, nella realtà sono rimasto deluso perché la QI non è leggermente inferiore, lo è sensibilmente, praticamente le immagini alle varie focali e ai vari diaframmi hanno sempre una leggera ma fastidiosa velatura, cosa assai frustrante in quanto l'obiettivo viene usato su una fotocamera che ha forse il miglior sensore FF come QI che è il 61 Mpx della A7RIV A! Onestamente non so capacitarmi di questa, per me, modesta resa, penso che cambierò questo obiettivo con altro.

Ik heb deze lens twee weken in huis en heb er al een aantal landschap foto’s mee gemaakt. Werkt heel fijn en ligt goed in balans met mijn Sony 7 III. De foto’s zijn scherp, goed van kleur en mooi contrast. Ben er zeer tevreden mee met deze aankoop.

J’ai acheté l’article en avril dernier, entre temps je suis allé en Indonésie, fait ses prestation de mariage et le produit est top! A des difficultés en basse lumière (logique) mais mise à part cela, le rendu des couleurs, le piqué, la qualité de fabrication et son prix rendent cet objectif incontournable

Il est conseillé d’utiliser un parasoleil pour réduire la lumière parasite et obtenir la meilleure image possible.
Alignez la ligne rouge du parasoleil sur la ligne rouge de l’objectif (repère de parasoleil), puis insérez le parasoleil sur la monture d’objectif et tournez-le dans le sens horaire jusqu’à ce qu’il s’encliquette et le point rouge du parasoleil s’aligne sur la ligne rouge de l’objectif (repère de parasoleil).
Si vous utilisez un flash externe (vendu séparément),retirez le parasoleil pour éviter de bloquer la lumière du flash. Pour ranger le parasoleil, insérez-le à l’arrière de l’objectif.

Für meine Sony Alpha 7 RIIIa sollte nach dem hervorragenden 24 - 105 mm noch ein ein Zoomobjektiv für den Bereich 70-200 mm beschafft werden. Von Sony standen hier zwei Alternativen zur Verfügung, entweder das G 70-200 f 4.0 oder das G 70-200 f 2.8 II. Ich habe mich aus folgenden Gründen für das f 4.0 entschieden: - Gewicht, hier 840 gr vs 1.045 gr (jeweils ohne Stativvorrichtung), - Preis, hier 1.099 € vs 2.999 € lt. Sony Website, - Ausführungsqualität der gesamten Objektivkonstruktion, - das Typenschild auf dem Objektiv weist auch „Made in Japan“ aus, nicht „C…..“, „T……,“ „V…….“ etc, ggf bin ich hier etwas altmodisch gepolt 🙂. Bitte nicht falsch interpretieren. Bei einer größeren Marktkette gab es vor kurzem einen Mehrwertsteuernachlass, weiterhin noch den Sommer Cashback von Sony, da konnte ich nicht mehr widerstehen. Günstiger für ein Neuobjektivkauf geht es kaum. Für mich als Hobbyfotograf ist die f 4.0 Version absolut ausreichend. Selbst bei der durchgehenden Blende 4.0 bietet das Objektiv für mich eine ausreichende Schärfeleistung, die sich je nach Blendenvorwahl noch steigern lässt. Sicher setzt das f 2.8 noch einen Ticken drauf, aber meine Printgrößen hören bei 45 x 30 cm auf. Weiterhin nutze ich das Objektiv zumeist bei Tageslicht, will heißen der Mehrpreis für das f 2.8 rechnet sich für mich auf keinen Fall. Die Alpha 7 RIIIa erlaubt auch ein entsprechendes Croppen bei der Bildgestaltung (APSC Einstellung oder Klarbildzoom) oder bei der Entwicklung in der Bildbearbeitung. Insofern wird aus 200 dann 300 (APSC - Modus) oder 400 beim Klarbildzoom. Bei der Bildbearbeitung bietet die RIIIa mit ihren 42 Megapixel beim Croppen ausreichend Reserven. Wer es gerne über die Kamera steuert, empfehle ich nach mehreren Bilderserien den APSC Modus der Kamera, der meiner Meinung nach die besseren Ergebnisse gegenüber dem Klarbildzoom bringt. Bewegte Objekte muss ich noch testen, will heißen wie reagiert der Autofokus in den verschiedenen Einstellungen der Kamera. Ausreichend schnell ist der Fokus des Objektivs allemal. Kleines Update: Kurz nach meinem Kauf kam das neue f 4.0 incl. Makro und allgemeinen Verbesserungen auf den Markt - sicher eine überlegenswerte Alternative. Wer den Mehrpreis nicht scheut und gerne „Makrografiert“ sollte dieses Objektiv in die engere Wahl nehmen. Profis werden sicher das f 2.8 bevorzugen. Mir genügt das „Alte“ allemal - die Qualität der Ergebnisse, Konstruktion, Autofokus, Gewicht, Preis/Leistung überzeugen.

Just spent a few hours running this lens through its paces at a military families day with plenty of photo opportunities. Performed like a dream. Left the lens foot at home to lose weight. Internal focusing was a real boon. Good robust lens hood worked well in bright sunlight. Recommended.

Really good lens, I don’t need the F2.8 and this F4 is great and very sharp, using it on both full and crop sensor cameras A6000 and A7iv. Well made and having a 72mm thread all my filters fit. Moved to Sony from Nikon and to be honest I’m very happy, Nikon lost out as in many ways just seem to be falling behind with their mid range cameras, for what I need anyway

Habe das Objektiv jetzt ca. 3 Wochen und bin bis auf die Abbildungsleistung bzw. Autofokus bei schlechtem Licht zufrieden. Verwende das Objektiv an meiner neuen Sony A7R5 die ich noch besser kennenlernen muss. Mir ist z.B. noch keine Aufnahme des Mondes mit dem Autofokus gelungen - Manuel schon teilweise (siehe Fotos)

Ho acquistato quest’ottica meno di un mese fa e alle prime prove ne sono completamente soddisfatto. La costruzione è ottima e la qualità dell’immagine non è da meno . L’unico punto che poteva essere progettato meglio è relativo alla minima distanza di messa a fuoco , ma per questo c’è il GM II . Considerando la fascia di prezzo non posso che dargli 5 stelle

I would like to have bought the GM version, however, I couldn't justify the much higher cost. I'm impressed; much sharper through the focal range than I expected, when used on my Alpha 1. Not very heavy and easy to handle. Focussing is fast and accurate. Highly recommended.

I've had this lens for a year now, it's sharp and a good compromise to having several lenses on a shoot. Lost a star as I've noticed a bit of dust has gotten under the front element. How it happens who knows but doesn't appear to affect the picture quality.

Die ersten Ergebnisse waren schon so überzeugend, daß ich ganz begeistert bin von dem FE 4/70-200 . Lediglich bei Blende 4 und 100 mm Brennweite waren am Rand in der 100% Anzeige leichte Schwächen erkennbar, Für die Praxis ist das aber vollkommen unbedeutend. Ich freue mich sehr über mein neues Objektiv.

I've only had the opportunity to use this lens on one project and, as yet, haven't had the time to closely review the images. I can say that, due to a miscalculation on my part, the lens, camera and myself were covered in sea water. The lens continued to function through the rest of my shoot. A wipe down with tap water was necessary at the end of the shoot and the lens continues to function as designed.

Bin zufrieden, aber man muss leider dazu sagen, dass der Autofokus manchmal nicht trifft. In Anbetracht des Preises schade. Und man kommt ab und zu an die Schalter und schaltet versehentlich den Bildstabilisator ab. Bokeh für ein F4 sehr gut, Stabilisator funktioniert super (wenn man ihn denn nicht versehentlich ausgeschaltet hat) und der Brennweitenbereich ist toll! Wenn der Fokus sitzt, ist die Linse unheimlich scharf!

Ich kenne "weiße" Objektive von früher und anderen Herstellern. Hier bei Sony gibt es jetzt einen "Quantensprung" - besonders beim Autofokus: nicht nur leise und schnell, sondern unglaublich präzise beim Verfolgen. Auch Haptik und Handling voll zufriedenstellend. Hervorragend auch die Auflösung in den Randbereichen. Bei jedem Zoom muss man konstruktionsbedingt mit leichten Verzeichnungen (Kissen und Tonnen) zwar rechnen. Bei diesem Objektiv muss man schon ordentlich vergrößern und sehr genau hinsehen, um solche zu entdecken. Für Photoshop und kameraintern überhaupt kein Problem - falls man sie als störend empfinden sollte. Ich vergrößere bis A3+ und habe keine Probleme dabei.

I deliberated over the f2.8 v f4 for some time, glad I choose the f4 version, I could not justify the price difference, love the separation on this glass, quick release tripod collar, button set up the lens body. would really recommend the f4 version if your sitting on the fence with like me the cost difference.

Habe das Sony 70-200 F4 an meiner Sony a7IV und a7 III und es macht gute, scharfe Bilder. Dazu ist es noch relativ leicht. Ich brauche kein F2.8, mir reichen die F4 vollkommend. Ich kann das Objektiv empfehlen.

Amazing lens!

I have been using this lens for the past 2 or 3 weeks. It has so far made my life easier, the quality of the glass is just so good. I never thought I could take photos as good as I did with this lens. It has a lot of switches for focus, stabilisation, focus lock just like it should. The weight is ideal. Being a lens that doesn't extend and with a constant F4 is very useful, but if I could improve on that, I'd like an F2.8 or lower (I know there is an F2.8 GM version but for almost twice the money). In evenings you start to struggle unless you have your own lighting. An amazing lens that I do not regret spending my hard earned money on, at all! The zoom and focus rings are very good, with the perfect amount of dampening and the zoom ring has a shirt throw so you can be precise and quick. Autofocus does a great job, you would almost never have a situation where you'd have to use manual focus. I use it with an A6400 and it does a tremendous job. Couldn't recommend it more!

I bought this over the 100-400 a month ago and am delighted with the purchase. The bird eye AF is superb and sign has short throe on zoom which allows shots I never had before, great reach cf 100-400 and can still use a telconvertor . Plus it is great value for money

Ich habe dieses Objektiv 4 Wochen mach meinem Erwerb der Sony Alpha 6000 gekauft, da das Kit Objektiv keinen Telebereich hat. Ich bin zwar Neueinsteiger in Sachen Kamera, aber mit diesem Objektiv konnte ich sofort richtig gute Fotos schießen. Sowohl Porträt als auch sich bewegende Tiere. Ich habe es keine Sekunde bereut, als Anfänger so viel Geld in ein Objektiv investiert zu haben

Ho questo prodotto da alcune settimane e lo sto provando in più contesti (esterni, interni, con molta e con scarsa luce). Reagisce molto bene in esterno e un po' meno bene in interno con condizioni di poca luminosità. Associato alla fotocamera si dimostra comodo, agevole e - considerato i risultati che offre - un ingombro soddisfacente nell'utilizzo. Nel complesso è un ottimo prodotto e sono soddisfatto dell'acquisto.

For the first time I decided to buy this kind of zoom with F4.0, the widest aperture. As zooms go this is a quite a compact one. Quality of the images is exemplary, as long as you are happy to settle for slightly deeper depth of field. Focusing is fast and precise, and overall this is an excellent lens.

Ich habe das 70-200 G nun seit 3 Monaten im Einsatz und bin begeistert. Es ist relativ leicht und liegt super in der Hand, u.a. auch dank des Innenfokusier-Systems. Die Bildstabilisierung arbeitet hervorragend, sowie der reaktionsschnelle Autofokus. Auch gelingen mir damit knackscharfe Bilder mit gutem Bokeh.
