Bought this as I wanted to see what the best telephoto Prime from Sony was like. Ive owned Nikon and Olympus top quality telephoto primes & this Sony one stacks up against them very well. You get what you pay for sometimes. Photos attached here are low resolution - full quality from an A7R IV and A9mk3 are stunning.

The 200-600mm Sony lens is so good that I have always wondered just how much better the prime could be. Well now I know - and it is better in every way. I primarily photograph birds so being able to use the teleconverters and still get great quality is a real plus. The difference in f stop actually works out to the difference between getting some shots and not, even in the heady days of high ISO and DeNoise. The lens is surprisingly light in the hand as it is so well balanced. The zoom lens still has its place in my kit bag, but the prime will definitely be my main lens from now on.

Das Objektiv liefert eine herausragende Schärfe, auch mit dem TC 1.4 dann bei 840mm. Zusammen mit der A1 sind wegen dem perfekten OSS auch relativ lange Belichtungszeiten aus der Hand möglich, z.B. 1/250 bei 600mm. Nachteile: es ist riesig und auf Dauer sind 3kg auch nicht wenig, der Preis eines kleinen Autos …. Alle Bilder mit dem Objektiv, meist noch mit TC1.4. Hochgeladen mit Handy. Gerade in der Wildtier Fotografie sehr gut.

Seit zwei Jahren grüble ich nach, mir dieses Objektiv zu leisten. Mit meinem SEL 200-600 war und bin ich sehr zufrieden gewesen und werde es auch behalten. Nach reifer Überlegung hatte ich ein Exemplar ergattert, ich weiß, dass diese nicht auf Lager produziert werden! Gekauft und an meine A1 und bereits die ersten Fotos zeigten den Sprung der Qualität! Das Prime ist derart scharf und trifft dabei mit dem Auto-Focus präzise was es soll! Einfach geniale Technik und Verarbeitung! Für den ambitionierten Hobby-Fotografen sowie für den Profi kein Nachteil dadurch!

Ich besitze es erst seit kurzem, daher hier der erste Eindruck. Lichtstarkes Objektiv, mit außergewöhnlicher Schärfe. Für die Größe akzeptables Gewicht. Was mir nicht gefällt ist die Befestigung der Gegenlichtblende, und der merkwürdige Objektivdeckel (Lederteil mit Klettverschluss).

Changed my 200-600 for this. I certainly haven't regretted it, this lens is perfect for my wildlife photography. I use it with my A1 which is the ideal combination. A fast lens with superfast focus and amazing bokeh. Resulting images have super intricate detail. I cannot fault the lens.

Das 4/600 mm GM OSS haben ich mit der Alpha 1 eingesetzt. Der Fokus ist Ultraschnell. Schärfe und Bokeh absolute Spitze. Der Ausschuss an unscharfen Bildern ist gegen null zurückgegangen. Mein erster Test hat großartige Bildergebnisse von fliegenden Vögel hervorgebracht. Das Superteleobjektiv lieferte in einem ersten Hands-on-Test eine exzellente Bildqualität und ein wunderschönes, weiches Bokeh.

cet objectif va me permettre de faire des photos animalières en sous bois et par mauvais temps, chose plus compliquée avec le 200-600. j'apprécie beaucoup le revêtement caoutchouc sur le bord de l'objectif là ou en général on a des petits chocs après quelques mois d'utilisation. Le poids est bien équilibré et est plus supportable que ce que je pensais. La qualité des photos est au rendez vous, cet objectif monté sur l'Alpha 1 est vraiment remarquable. La mallette de transport est luxueuse mais imposante. Le seul bémol sur cet équipement est la consommation accrue de la batterie, si on tend l'oreille, on entend un bruit permanent d'un moteur à moins que cela soit un défaut, à vérifier

Le téléobjectif Sony 600f4 GM remplit toutes mes attentes. Très maniable malgré sa taille, super piqué, très belle qualité d'image, magnifique bokeh, autofocus très réactif, possibilité de photographier en basse lumière (hiver), c'est exactement ce que j'espérais après avoir eu pendant 2 ans le zoom 200-600 !

Sharp, bright, robust, lightning-quick autofocus work and really light. You can not imagine that 600mm f/4 can be that light - no problem to handhold for long periods of time when working with wildlife, which is nice that you do not need to carry a tripod/monopod for every time.

So einen Betrag für ein Objektiv auszugeben, will gut überlegt sein, zumal ich ja kein Berufsfotograf bin, sondern es "nur" eine Leidenschaft von mir ist. Das Gewicht war bei der Übergabe im Fachgeschäft schon erstaunlich :-) Für mich war es wichtig, möglichst wenig mit mir herum zu tragen, bin ich, habe ich Zeit, für viele Stunden auch in unwegsamen Gelände unterwegs. Die Bedienung ist logisch und einfach. Die Bildqualität UNGLAUBLICH! Ich bereue keinen Cent!

Ho acquistato il 600 da pochi giorni e ancora non l'ho provato a fondo. Ma ho avuto l'opportunità di provarlo durante gli internazionali di golf a Roma lo scorso anno. La qualità e eccezionale con Sony A9, con la Sony A7 RIV è spettacolare. In questi primi giorni l'ho anche provato con l'aggiunta del 2x sia la messa a fuoco automatica che la qualità d'immagine rimangono ottime. L'obbiettivo rimane incredibilmente leggero e quindi trasportabile. Vengo da quasi 40 anni di Canon e da 26 come professionista, da poco più di un anno ho cambiato passando a Sony senza nessun rimpianto, anzi posso affermare che è tutta un altra musica.

J'ai acheté cet objectif début mai juste après le déconfinement. Il est très léger pour un 600mm, associé au A9 c'est un régal. Ça me change de mon ancien 500F4 monté sur un D5, une vraie enclume... Le piqué est top dès F4, la stab super efficace et avec le silence du a9 c'est top pour les photos animalières.

Sostituisce il EF 600mm f/4 LIS USM Canon e devo dire che lo fa nel migliore dei modi. Lo utilizzo principalmente per fotografia naturalistica e sportiva e dimostra, in abbinamento alla a9MKII, una capacità di ripresa unica nel suo genere: velocità, resa ottica e leggerezza sono al massimo di quanto il mercato può offrire. AF è eccezionale, ovviamente merito anche del corpo macchina, rapido preciso e soprattutto silenziosissimo, non presenta mai indecisioni o ripensamenti, aggancia il soggetto e non lo perde neanche quando lo sfondo e un elemento focheggiabile. Non fatevi ingannare dalle prove AF con sfondo il cielo oppure quando le prove sono fatte con obiettivi di focale corta o soggetti lontani, in queste situazioni anche il peggiore AF in commercio oggi è in grado di sfornare risultati soddisfacenti. Le vere difficoltà ci sono con focali lunghe e soggetti in movimento e soprattutto vicini. Questo è il regno incontrastato del FE 600mm Sony e della a9 (MKII nel mio caso). La qualità ottica è al massimo anche migliore dei noti rivali. La costruzione è perfetta, migliore dei rivali e si a nelle rifiniture che per robustezza. La leggerezza, per un'ottica del genere, è incredibile ma soprattutto ha una maneggevolezza fantastica grazia allo spostamento del gruppo ottico di messa a fuoco verso il corpo macchina. Il giudizio: ottica al TOP della sua categoria.

Die Abbildungsleistung und AF-Geschwindigkeit des Objektivs sind ausgezeichnet und haben meine Erwartungen übertroffen. Insbesondere in Kombination mit der Sony A9 ist es bei bewegten Objekten schnell und von außerordentlicher Präzision. Die Zahl unscharfer Bilder liegt unter 1%. Im Vergleich wirken die Bilder mit dem 200-600er eher flau, welches ich auf einer vorangegangen Reise testen konnte. Die Kombination mit dem 1.4fach Extender führt nicht zu unmittelbar sichtbaren Abbildungsverlusten. Das Bokeh ist beeindruckend. Aufgrund dieser Erfahrung habe ich mich dann für den Kauf des 600er entschieden.
