Excellent Travel Lens

The 24-105 f4 provides both a wide-angle view, to capture grand buildings inside and out, and telephoto reach, to compose portraits and pick out either built or natural landscape details, in one lens. Generally good lenses avoid the transition from truely-wide to usefully long like 24-70s which hardly go beyond normal. Lower quality lenses often offer great range but at a compromise - usually getting soft at the longer focal lengths. To get a decent picture with them means stopping down making the lens useless for isolating the foreground. If you want extreme separation in your headshots this is not the lens, but for contextual portraits where the face is pulled out from the background yet where the background is still recognisable; it is perfect. Every focal length is razor-cut sharp meaning your interiors, landscapes and portraits will all look top-notch. The sharpness at large apertures delivers great separation when you want it. At 24mm it goes just about as wide as you can without needing to use special care over composition. It feels heavy, because the camera and lens together seem physically small, but I have felt no hint of fatigue. A pair of primes would not be much lighter or indeed sharper but would necessitate regular changing. Physically this lens looks smart but not impressive - I think manufacturers who add a coloured ring know what they are doing because an optic like this is not cheap. The zoom takes some effort but is smooth. Vibration is wonderfully damped by the stabilisation although whether I should thank the lens or camera is hard to say. Controls all work fine - though I don't regularly focus manually. Before I bought this, I thought I would suffer the occasional frustration of not having wider or longer reach but to my surprise I rarely do. Maybe I step forward and back a little more without thinking. As I said in the title, this is an absolutely excellent travel lens, a keep-on-your-camera-all-day optic. It is also a superb social lens - for snapping parties and gatherings yet coming home with the most fantastic pictures. I use this lens on an A7 III.

Das 24-105 darf zurecht schon als ein Klassiker bezeichnet werden. Dabei ist es mitnichten veraltet, sondern ganz im Gegenteil aufgrund seiner Vielseitigkeit ein Objektiv, was man einfach haben muss. Die Bildschärfe ist wirklich grandios und mit einer durchgehenden Blende 4 lassen sich sogar sehr schöne Makros mit tollem Bokeh erzeugen. Der Bildstabilisator ist über jeden Zweifel erhaben und funktioniert auch im Zusammenspiel mit den neuesten Sony Kameras perfekt. Sowohl der Blenden Ring als auch der Ring für den manuellen Fokus laufen absolut spielfrei. Da gibt es kein Klemmen und kein Klappern. Zum Gehäuse hin wird das objektiv mit einem Ohrring abgedichtet und sitzt wunderschön fest auf dem Bajonett. Ich liebe dieses Objektiv und kann es jedem empfehlen.

Just got this lens for my A7RII and it works perfectly with it. Good size and weight for general usage, and very solidly built. Typical Sony attention to detail and design style. It is neat and good-looking so it suits the camera too. It is a 'G' so it is crisp if not top notch, but still, on my 36MP sensor, it delivers with a bit of care. But, surprisingly, at full 24mm and F4 it works best! Very fine resolution wide open. At 105mm it isn't so sharp, even when stopping down, but is still easily good enough for average size printing (I tend to try to print large format canvas in the 1 meter wide range). Care in sharpening resolves more. The OSS seems to be very effective, and I have big hands yet find the button positions and focus ring right. The zoom ring is a bit stiffish so feels more clunky but at least this does not slide out when moving the camera! I have owned a Canon 24-70 F2.8 Mkii, which is super sharp - and costs a lot more than this - but with an adapter for the A7RII it is just too massive to carry around. This is a nice compromise. Very happy with this lens.

Deze lens gebruik ik op mijn A7iv en ik ben er heel erg tevreden over. Mede op basis van de recensies op deze en andere websites heb ik ervoor gekozen om deze als standaardlens te gebruiken. De kwaliteiten, die door zo velen aan de lens worden toegeschreven, kan ik bevestigen. Het bereik, 24-105 mm, is zeer bruikbaar, f4 is prima voor mijn toepassingen, de stabilisatie is erg effectief en, waar het eigenlijk om gaat, de foto's zijn bijzonder goed! Deze G-lens levert heel veel waarde voor het geld (met dank ook aan Sony's cash back actie). Van harte aanbevolen!

Ich bin absolut begeistert vom Sony FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS. Für mich ist es das perfekte Allround-Objektiv – egal ob Landschaft, Portrait oder Reisefotografie. Farben wirken natürlich und kontrastreich, typisch für die G-Serie von Sony. Besonders positiv fällt mir die konstante Lichtstärke von F4 auf, die das Arbeiten sehr angenehm macht. Die Verarbeitung ist hochwertig und robust, gleichzeitig ist das Objektiv für seinen Zoombereich angenehm kompakt und nicht zu schwer. Perfekt für unterwegs, wenn man nicht mehrere Objektive mitnehmen möchte. Ein vielseitiges, qualitativ hochwertiges Objektiv mit exzellenter Bildleistung. Für mich eine klare Kaufempfehlung!

E' la terza volta che ricompro questo obiettivo del quale ho sempre apprezzato la versatilità, ma che per 2 volte ho rivenduto per lenti più luminose. Alla fine l'ho ricomprato per le terza volta perchè penso che sia le lente più comoda che c'è e la sto apprezzando e riscoprendo sempre di più nel video. Sono un professionista ed ho avuto modo di lavorare con moltissime lenti diverse, ma sono ritornato su questo obiettivo e da tempo è lo zoom che sto usando praticamente per tutto. Non è certamente nitido come un 24-70 GM II, ma è proprio questo che me lo fa apprezzare. Nel video e nel ritratto in studio preferisco non avere una nitidezza estrema (comunque è una lente nitida, piena di dettaglio). Inoltre poter arrivare a 105mm in studio o nella fotografia di eventi è molto comodo. E nei video con le macchie full frame è spettacolare, si passa dal 24 mm ai 200mm ed oltre tra crop apsc e clear image zoom. Certo è "solo" un F4, ma è costante ed ormai le macchine Sony hanno una tenuta agli alti iso che rendono fattibilissimo lavorare anche con obiettivi meno luminosi. Rispetto al 2.8 c'è uno sfuocato meno intenso, ma è comunque piacevole e presente, anche a 24mm (a seconda di come lo si usa) e per come lavoro io, privilegiando il contesto, è perfetto. Inoltre ha la stabilizzazione ottica che combinata con quella sul sensore fa davvero la differenza nel video. Insomma ho rivalutato definitivamente questo obiettivo ed è diventato il mio zoom di riferimento per tutte le volte che lavoro con uno zoom.

Objectif polyvalent en ville ou la campagne, à la plage ou des événement festives le soir. L'ouverture F:4 est encore suffisante pour pouvoir mettre au point par faible luminosité ou créer un arrière plan relativement flou (portraits et nature). Le piqué est au rendez vous sur toute la plage focale et une mise au point silencieuse et rapide sans changement d'angle de prise de vue est apprécié, en bref : un objectif de qualité pour se promener la ou il-y-a du monde.

Ik heb deze lens met 200€ cashback gekocht voor Blackfriday maar nergens te vinden waar ik die cashback kan recupereren. Ook geen mogelijkheid om met Sony in contact te komen voor hulp via mail, noch telefoon.

Photographe professionnel, j’utilise le 24-105mm f/4 G OSS quotidiennement pour mes reportages, et c’est devenu l’un de mes objectifs les plus polyvalents. La qualité d’image est excellente sur toute la plage focale : piqué homogène, très bon contraste et rendu des couleurs fidèle. L’ouverture constante à f/4 offre un bon équilibre entre luminosité et compacité, ce qui en fait un outil fiable pour le terrain. L’autofocus est rapide, précis et silencieux, un vrai atout pour le reportage. La stabilisation intégrée est efficace, surtout combinée à celle du boîtier Sony A7 IV. C’est un objectif robuste, bien construit, qui encaisse sans problème les conditions de prise de vue variées (voyages, événements, extérieurs…). En résumé : une optique de confiance, polyvalente et de très haut niveau. Je le recommande sans réserve à tous ceux qui cherchent un zoom “à tout faire” pro sans compromis sur la qualité.

Prachtige zoomlens , uiterst scherp en niet te zwaar. Met deze lens bestrijk ik het volledige bereik : van breedhoek tot portret tot lichte tele. De lens blijft uiterst scherp over het volledige bereik, en geeft bijna geen vervorming bij 24 mm. De F4 levert mij bijna nooit beperkingen, en produceert als ik het wil een prachtige bokeh , aan een prijs die nog aanvaardbaar is voor een amateur. De lens is erg mooi van uitzicht, is erg vakkundig gebouwd en weegt maar 630 g. Een echt hebbeding.
