    Omar,

With a proprietary connector and no usb charging facility a mobile/car charger would make good sense and another ideal accessory - I for one would prefer a branded Sony one rather than third party.

I'm sure if you canvased opinion you would get a good response and therefore business case.

    Regards

    Pratish,

My understanding is that the the Tablet draws too much power for standard usb. Unless someone else knows different.

This is true (tablet needs 0.3W, usb only outputs 500mW), but you wouldn't be charging from USB in a car, and the feed from the cigarette lighter socket would have pleanty of juice.

Come on Sony, pull your finger out - we need a car charger!!

I use my tab every day but my biggest issue is the charger. I'm hoping Sony make either a car charger or a USB adaptor soon (or at least let us know they are looking into it).

If not Sony than hopefully somebody like Hama will produce the needed adapter .

I hope an engineer from Sony is reading this forum .

To be honest this has really pissed me off.

If Sony had and has no plans to make accessories for the tablet they should have made the charging port a widely recognised one, usb as just one example. I have been recommending this tablet to my friends as being so user friendly in all aspects. This makes a mockery of that.

I just bought a car charger from somewhere. It is not a Sony brand, but I guess it will work. Will check later on.

Me to! Sony Tablet S will probably loose some market share within mobile car and marine if not solving 12V charging!

I agree with everybody. To produce a mobile device which uses a proprietary charger connection, and not to provide a mobile charging solution is unbelieveable. Get with the programme Sony - USB charging and mobile charger are minimum requirements these days.
