Had an ipad 2 for a while, I just got the digital AV adaptor to connect to my Sony Bravia.

For  some reason it does not work on my Sony Bravia KDL 40W5810, in what ever HDMI port it is in.  I've used the XBOX 360 with the same HDMI cable with no problems before in different ports.

I tried connecting  it first then switiching it on, but that didnt work.

On another HD tv, much smaller, much cheaper it works just fine using the same HDMI cable and said adapter.

Any ideas would be greatly appricated, could there be something wrong with the telly?
