Greetings All !

I am trying to find a new Sony main board : 1-873-477-12 for Sony TV Model : KDL 40S 3000 .Googling brought

up this board under Model KDL 32 S 3000 . Is this board model specific or able to work on both models ? If so

where can I purchase a new one as all seen are used. Thanks for any imput .

Homestream causing internal error code 7

Sony Homestream can cause an internal error code 7 on Windows XP Home on startup. After a period of working without any problem this error occurs and disappears when Homestream is removed. The Event Log confirms that Homestream is the cause. Please has anyone else experienced this error.

My workaround is to remove and reinstall Homestream but it doesn't solve the problem and the error occurs again after a period

SMP-N200 AND NETGEAR READYNAS

Hello

I want to know if the smp-n200 will be able to access my Neatgear ReadyNAS and enable me to play music (mp3) and show photo's (JPEG) and watch video (DVD) files onto the TV.

These are all stoered on shares in folders on the ReadyNAS and the ReadyNAS is set up as DLNA server.

I can access all these files on loptops and android phones so the next logical would be to have them on the TV.

If anyone can offer help and advise should would be helpfull.

Is it possible to get Live365 (Internet Radio) on TV (Sony KDL-40NX713)?

The Sony KDL-40NX713 is internet ready and I am able to watch videos via widgets like You-Tube etc. On the Music side there are only 3 widgets Music Unlimited, Berliner Philharmoniker and National Public Radio. Is it possible to add/create more? I listen to the Live 365 via the PC and can connect the PC sound to the TV but it would be nice to be able to receive the Interent Radio directly via the TV (Sony KDL-40NX713) and feed it to the surround sound system directly.

SMP-N100 Video issues

Hi,

I have a Sony SMP-N100 and I'm having issues playing video files via Wi-Fi.

I have a Huawei HG533 Wi-Fi Router which has a USB input that you can connect a USB drive to with media files on it and play the files over Wi-Fi through various media players, Smart TV's, Tablets etc.

When I navigate the Video menus on my SMP-N100, I can find the folder structure for the USB drive, but when I try and play the videos it says "There is no playable file".

However, my SMP-N100 can access the same video files on my Laptop and play them with no issues, so the actual video format is OK. I also have a Sony TV (KDL-32CX523) which can access and play the video files on the USB attached to my Huawei HG533 Wi-Fi Router.

Can anyone suggest why my SMP-N100 wont play the video files on the USB attached to my Huawei HG533 Wi-Fi Router and how I can fix this, if at all?

Just thought I would offer a bit of clarity around the Netflix discussion threads that keep popping up.

Is Netflix coming to Sony devices?

Hopefully, no date confirmed as yet, but as you'd expect, we'd like to launch it on Sony Entertainment Network/BRAVIA Internet Video as soon as we can.

Which devices will it be compatible with and will it be backported?

Not clear yet. We look to backport all services to as many devices as possible, but its not always technical possible to do. Whilst it is available on US devices at present, its not yet clear if Netflix would want to re-use the old interface or launch with a new interface, which makes things much harder to backport.

Feel free to ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer below - mindful there are areas I cannot discuss with NDA's in place etc..

I bought this tv last year and am disappointed that subtitles cannot be seen. I have been onto the BBC webpage and it shows how to do it but I think this is for a computer as the small 's' they speak about is not there when I look at the iplayer through my tv. When I press the subtitle button on my control it tells me that this function is not available. It really does stop me watching many tv programmes when there are no subtitles. Does anyone have an update on this.

Hi! Im having trouble with my home theatre system. I have Sony BDV-L800 and it is connected as follows:

Cable box hdmi going to Sony

Sony hdmi going to tv

when i play blue ray, the sound is perfect. But when i watch tv, the sound is DELAYED. AV Synch doesnt help at all. I have updated my sofftware. When i connect my tv directly to my cable box, the sound is ok. I have changed cable boxes as well.

Has anyone managed to stream from a windows 8 system?

I have recently upgraded to a windows 8 computer and the music and pictures stream beautifully to my Bravia TV, the videos however are a different matter.

They are getting reconized and even come up as a picture on my screen but if you try to play them the little cursor spins round for a bit then a sign comes up saying "playback not available"

the only way i can get a video to play is to either make them into a movie which plays in a WMV (.wmv) file or convert the video into AVI (.avi) file but this takes an awful long time to do, is this the only way round it?

If I try to stream directly from DIVX or window media on my computer the little "Play to" box tells me that my lounge TV is not windows certified and the video has "an unexpected error" and won't play.

Looking on the Sony web site it seems that the video formats I am using are all ok to use with a sony Bravia TV, I tried the help line but they just sent me 3 pages of gumph that was not much help at all, I feel i am so close to getting this working and maybe its staring me in the face but I cannot believe that I need to reformat my entire video library.

Just checked the other formats that won't play and they are AVI (.AVI) if having the AVI in upper case makes a difference!, MP4 and WMV (.WMV) again is this case sensitive?

I do have an old WM file which does play on the TV but very badly but thats about it

Anyone out there with a bit more going for them than me that has sorted this out?

Youtube app not picking up my subscriptions

I have just got a new sony smart tv and downloaded the latest firmware. I have a youtube account with many subscriptions but when I go to the app through Bravia TV I do not see all of my subscriptions. In fact I only see 3 out of 10+ subscriptions. Then when I subscribe to new channels on my youtube account using my phone/pc, the Bravia TV still only displays a minority.

I dont know if its the update that has caused this because I have literally had the tv for about 2 weeks. (I remember it working properly in the first few days of having the tv - but I think it may have been the update that has caused this issue).

What is causing this issue? Is it a bug with the firmware? I am very disapointed....

I am having trouble connecting my pc to my TV. I have a Vaio VGN-NS20E and my TV is a Samsung LE37R8. I am using a SVGA cable and an audio cable. I cannot get a picture on the TV, I went to shut down the PC and when it went into the "shutting down" page it suddenly showed up on the TV. When I restarted my PC exactly the same thing happened. All I get is a check cable connection message. Any help would be appreciated.

Everything worked fine until recently. I am able to go to youtube, select a video but instead of playing the video it becomes a blank black screen and I am inable to return to youtubes homepage unless I completely cancel out of youtube...What's happening and how do I fix it?

Problem with using DLNA controller (iPad and Android) with SMP-N200

I have bought an SMP-N200 network media player which works fine for simple DLNA access to my Linux server for music. However, it only works is I use the remote control provided with the box, not if I try and use a DLNA controller AP from my iPad or my Samsum Galaxy SIII. Everything looks good (media palyer recognised as a renderer, controller recognised by the SMP as an allowed controller, server conencted to both the SMP and the controller APP), but failure message received on controller AP on selecting a track to play. I have tried several controller APs and they all work on my Bravia TVs, but not on the SMP. One of the APPs shows SetAVITransportURI failed (code: 714) on trying to play a track to the SMP. Just changing the renderer to a Bravia TV, and the track plays correctly on that TV. Anyone got any idea what is wrong?

Hi all

Thought I would provide a comprehensive and consolidated FAQ on Netflix as pretty much all the questions have already been answered, but may well be spread across different threads. Will update as new questions arise or if anything needs further clarification.

Will my device get Netflix?
- Simple answer is, if it hasn't got it already, then it won't be getting it I'm afraid.

What devices do have Netflix support?
- All 2012 platform BRAVIA's, Blu-ray players, Blu-ray Home Theatre Kits and Google TV. For clarity, this does not include the BDP-S185 and HX923 BRAVIA's which although still retailed in 2012, are actually based on the 2011 platform. As a rough rule of thumb, if its available to currently purchase on the this website, then it should be compatible.

Why can't my device receive Netflix when its available on previous US TV's from the same generation?
- DRM requirements have changed since Netflix first launched in the US a few years back. Thus its now mandated that the devices have to support Playready as well as supporting specific browsers to deliver a consistent experience . Only 2012 devices deliver on both of these criteria and so unfortunately its not possible to backport it to previous models due to the changes in requirements. We recognise this is a huge frustration for customers and have have examined every anngle when it comes to finding a workaround, however it has not been possible unfortunately.

Netflix appeared on my device temporarily and now isn't there, what happened?
- This is a quirk usually caused by geofiltering glitchs and can sometimes caused by new IP addresses being used by the ISP which were previously used in the US. This normally clears itself or customers can reset their modem or call their ISP to have the connection reset. If your device isn't mentioned in the first bullet point then its not compatible with the UK version of Netflix unfortunately.

Sony are holding back on the service to push people to upgrade their TV's?
- Categorically not true. We would love more people to have access to the service and avoid unhappy customers on the forums, but as above, its not technically possible to deliver the mandated elements on older devices.

I live outside the UK, what if Netflix launch in my region soon?
- Impossible to confirm, but if you have a 2012 device then there is a good likelyhood that the service will get pushed out when it goes live.

Remotely access files on USB device connected to SMPN200

Hi sorry if this has been answered already. I'm looking to buy the Sony SMPN200, as far as I can see it does everything I want but I'm unsure if I can remotely access files stored on a USB device connected to it.

I'd like to be able to plug in a USB HDD to the SMPN200 so it can play my movies/photos on the TV which is clearly says it does but would I also be able to access all data stored on the USB HDD via my laptop whilst it's connected?

Also does anyone know if a PS3 does the same thing and would that be a better option?

Looping with the N200

I have created a folder of mp3s on my PC (a playlist) and these are streamed using Serviio. On my Sony SMPN200 I can select that folder, select the first track and it will play, then automatically select and play the next track, and so on until the last track is played. Then it stops. What I would like, however, is to be able to loop back to the beginning and play the tracks all over again (looping).

Is this function available in the N200, or likely to be?

Skype has stopped signing-in automatically

Skype has been signing-in automatically on my new Sony Bravia Smart TV since xmas with no problems at all. This weekend I understand that the Sony Entertainment Network(SEN) was worked on and the Apps such as BBC i-player, 5 on demand and Love Films etc., could not be accessed. All came back working however on Sunday lunchtime albeit the Apps were re-arranged. The only problem I have now is that Skype does not sign-in automatically, and the TV displays 'Skype sign-in failed'. The tv is set for auto. sign-in and I can set it up manually by inserting my password. SEN request that I speak to you for assistance. Any thoughts please, mick.
