100 free books for PRS-T1

I have registered my PRS-T1 online but cannot find how to get the 100 free ebooks...

Hi, I am having issue with my PRS-T1, everytime the reader goes to sleep on turning it on again it freezes after opening a book or loading the dictionnary. The firmware is up to date.

Any way to get this fixed?

Authorization issues

I have recently purchased, second hand a PRS 300. I have managed to download a couple of free books, but I have recently borrowed some from my local library and installed them on my e reader library, but when I try to transfer to my reader I get the message ' this ebook cannot be transferred because the reader is authorized to another user' Can anyone please help, many thanks. Downloading books purchased in Reader Store

I have a Sony Reader Pocket Edition PRS-350. Last week, I purchased two books via the Reader Store but forgot to connect my reader to my PC before I bought the books. Although they are showing in My Books in my Reader Store account, I have been unable to download them. Every time I try I get a message popping up in a box at the bottom of my screen asking if I want to download this utter rubbish named file and when I click on the Save or Save As - nothing happens.

Is anyone else having this problem and, if so, have you been able to solve it?

I have sent many emails to Sony Support but they have been singularly unhelpful, all they have done is email me instructions for downloading the book (which I already know how to do and as it is not working I have had to contact them !!!!)

My PRS-T1 has died. I had a number of books unread and purchased DRM protected books on the device which I'd like to transfer to a new device. The epub files backed up on my PC hard drive.

Can I de-authorise the PRS-T1 to allow me to transfer to the maximum number of other devices and if so how can I do it? Do I need to do somethig with Adobe digital editions?

PRS 300 Sync problems

PRS 300

My reader hangs up synking on an epub book and will go no further. I have tried deleting the book and then re sync but it just stalls again on another book. Up untill now, nearly 3 years no real problems. Any ideas

How to insert left and right margin

With my reader (PRS-T2), I can remove margin from a book if I think it is too wide, but is there any way I can insert blank margin to the left and right side of the pages?

Some of the books I have downloaded, have text very close to the edge of the screen, which is in shadow in my favorite (night) reading position.

Suddenly all my books have become DRM protected, very frustrating as I was half way through reading one and had a new book lined up for my next read.

Months ago I lost the use to access my reader software - it stopped responding.

My PRS T1 reader has been a problem from the start and I am disappointed.

Can anyone help and get me up and running again.

All my efforts to contact Sony draw a blank. Not good PR!!

I have bought a pre,owned prs 600 I just cant get it going,i read all the book left on,then tried to regiter,no luck, emailed previous owner who said they would de register.still cant reg. Any help please as ive tried everything i can think off, i think i might have donee too much as i cant even get an adobe id to work, All I want to do is download library books as I travel a lot.Thank you any who can help

PRS-T1 freezes after loading mp3 to SD

I am listening to podcasts on my PRS-T1 which works well except for loading new mp3s to the (2GB) SD card.

I delete podcasts to which I have listened via the reader and transfer new podcasts to the SD card via the USB. However, when I disconnect the USB the reader goes into a continuous loading mode and, if left to itself, often depletes the battery completely after a couple of hours.

I have to either reset, or power down the reader and then start it up again. This works (so far), and the reader recognises the new files within 30 seconds or so and behaves normally. However it can sometimes take several minutes to respond to my power down request. This is all before I even attempt to listen to any of the files, or read anything on the reader.

I do not have any problems or corruption with the files once I have rebooted and can listen to them and delete them without any further problems, until it comes to putting fresh files on the reader. Then it starts all over again.

Do other people have the same problem? Could it be a problem with my SD card? Once I have reset the reader, or powered it down and on again there don't seem to be any problems so I would be surprised if it were a hardware problem.

Also, is there somewhere to report this to Sony to see if it is a software problem?

Sony Reader prs-t1 doesn't support 802.1x EAP secured wireless connections

Whenever I attempt to connect to a wireless network that uses 802.1x EAP, I am told that this protocol is not supported.

This seems quite bizarre to me, as I have other android devices which have no problems whatsoever connecting to the same networks.

Can this be enabled in a future update?

It is quite frustrating as I am part of an institution which only provides a network using this security protocol.

PRS-505 Firmware Update

Hello

I have tried to update the reader's firmware, but in the process updater was stopped on "Unable to update..." Now the reader state is: "Firmware update did not complete successfully. Please try again." Trying again did not help. The reader internal memory have one file: "Protected" and the memory only 44Kb.

Is there a solution for this.

How do I do a hard re-set on my PRS-T1 ereader

I followed instructions to update the software on my PRS-T1 ereader, and it got as far as shutting down the reader and restarting. It got as far as reaching the end of the Opening Book (the line has changed from all white to all black) and it has not moved since. I cannot turn off the reader or anything. If I do a soft reset it just runs along to the end of the Opening Book and then I am back to square one. Reader will not complete and open up. Also unable to turn off. Help!!!

Have purchased more books from Kobo which have downlaoded onto my pc - but every time the reader sync's with the computer the latest books do not appear onto the reader. Have not had this problem before. Can anyone please advise ( there are just over 100 books on the reader)

My Sony E reader freezes on the Home screen stating that it is 'loading' - this is after a full battery charge. I leave it for hours and eventually the battery indicator shows that there is no charge left. I have tried the reset button umpteen times and it sometimes switches the reader off but it starts on its own and freezes again.

I'm very close to recycling my Sony PRS-350 ebook reader. It has become unuseable, because it no longer works with ADE, or Sony reader.

It was fine until a couple of months ago, when Adobe updated ADE to version 2. Since then ADE has rejected all downloaded, DRM protected, books with 'no record for this loan exists on this device.

I therefore installed Sony Reader, which I've always found to be useless. The newest version is also useless. It just stops working 97% of the way through synchronising.

I've fought with this rubbish for over two years, but I'm just about ready to give up and buy a different brand. Why is Reader so useless? Don't Sony's software engineers test their software, before unleashing it on their users?

Yes I have done complete resets of the PRS-350 and reinstalled all software at least twice.

Can anyone give me one good reason to persevere with Sony?

Hi there, I've got a problem with my Sony Reader PRS-T2 recently when I wanted to update its firmware. My PRS-T2 works normally and when I connect it to the computer after I run the updater, it says: An unsupported model by this updater is connected.

I'm 100% sure that I'm using a PRS-T2 and a PRS-T2 updater. I've tried to restart the updater several times but nothing changed. I am currently using Windows 8 on my computer but I've also tried it on a computer with Windows 7 with no result. I tried to initialise the reader by choosing the Format option in its preferences, and I connected it again, still unsupported. Last time I succeeded to update it but I was using a Mac and an updater for Mac to do this.

Reader for the PC, Vs 2.01.11080 (the latest version)

So far as I am aware, there is nothing saying that Reader for the PC cannot be used to read ebooks on the PC without an eBook Reader device being plugged in.

But when you try to do this, it keeps on putting up a dialogue box saying it cannot syncronize, and that one should contact Sony support about the error.

Is this a marketing ploy?

Or very poor software engineering?

I suppose there are lots of other downloads for simply reading epub's on a PC.

Adobe Digital Editions, even the addon for Firefox.................

PRS-350 not connected to Reader for PC

Lately, the Reader for PC software does not seem to be recognising when I plug my PRS-350 reader in to the computer. This seems to be happening since the latest software update to Reader for PC, around the end of November. I am currently running version 2.0.01.11080.

Windows recognises that I have pluged the device in; the sound that indicates a device has been attached plays and the Autoplay dialoge appears. However, the Reader for PC software never recognnises the device as connected.

The same problem is happening on two seperate computers.

Problems with Reader Store

Last November I tried to buy a cheap book from the Reader Store to try out the library. The book arrived but every time I try to down load it it comes up as 'Failed to download content'. I contacted to reader store support and they raised a case number (3155). I carried out their instructions about reloading the Store software but still no joy. After numerous phone calls to the support centre in Egypt I was told that the problem had been passed to higher authorities. My suggestion that there could be something wrong with the book was met with derision and my suggestion that they supply me with a free book to prove that the system worked was also rejected. Since then numerous e-mails to the support centre have been ignored. I am totally disgusted in the attitude of the support centre and the total lack of response to my problem. Am I the only one to experience this problem.

When I try to download the Sony prs-300 reader library onto my new Sony vaio laptop, 98% is downloaded then I get a message saying error, try again. What am I doing wrong - downloaded fine onto old laptop. Is windows 8 a reason?

Have a PRS T2, wish I had never purchased it as I thought at the time to upgrade my old 350. Nothing but problems, now every new book I puchase is overwriting the previous book. I have bought 14 books today and only been able to transfer 4. Any clues why this is happening?
