Hi,

I have sony VAIO laptop. You can use Bluetooth in your Sony VAIO laptop. If you have installed Windows operating system in it, you can easily enable Bluetooth because Windows comes with a Bluetooth configuration utility. To enable Bluetooth device in your Sony VAIO laptop, you need to do three things. First of all, you need to have a Bluetooth adapter in your system. Then set up the device so that your computer can find it. Then you can enable the device in the control panel.

Hi,

Boot up your laptop and wait for the black screen to appear.

Press CTRL+ ALT+DEL keys, all at once, and then choose the ‘Task Manager’ option.

When you click the ‘Task Manager’, Go to the ‘Application Tab’ and then Click on ‘New Task’.

Now enter the command given below:
“C:Program FilesInternet Exploreriexplore.exe” “http://info.prevx.com/download.asp?GRAB=BLACKSCREENFIX”

Select ‘Ok’ to let your browser start up and initiate the download.

Hi,

You might see the presence of random lines all over the screen in some occasions in your sony Laptop. Often, troubles are created due to this. You would see the vertical and horizontal lines. You could solve this problem easily with the help of LCD BIST test. For this you would have to press the function key and follow the instruction as the LCD BIST runs several colored screen.

You can easily install the Windows 7 in your computer after checking and ensuring the system requirements. Flickering screen

Due to the problems in the inverter or due to the troubles in the cable connection usually screen flickering happens in the display of Sony Laptop. Uninstall audio drivers completely and then install the driver that is working.

1. Click Start,type Device Manager in the Start Search box, and then pressENTER.

2. In the Device Manager dialog box, expandSound, video, and game controllers.

3. Locate the audio device that was included with the computer.

3. Right-click the device, and then clickProperties.

4. Click theDriver tab, and then click Uninstall.

5. Place a check mark next to"Delete the Driver Software for this device" check box, and then click OK.

6. Install the driver that is working.

Here are some tips to fix black screen error on Windows 7 systems with the cursor hang

Use Windows 7 DVD

You can use the Windows 7 DVD to repair these black screen issues in the system. For this, you need to insert the DVD in the system and then restart the system. You will be then prompted to press any key to boot from the disk. After pressing any key, you will reach the “Install Now” screen. In this screen, you need to select the ‘Repair Your Computer’ options. In the next screen appearing, you will get two options from which you need to select the first option and then select the OS you installed in the system. Follow this procedure to disable the touchpad.

In the VAIO Support Central window, click on the Categories tab.

On the Categories tab, click the Plus (+) symbol next to Keyboard and Mouse.

Under Keyboard and Mouse, double-click Built-in Pointing Device.

In the Built-in Pointing Device window, click to clear the Enable box.

Hi,

You should determine the exact component that is causing the issue of a black screen. For this, restart the computer first in Safe Mode. Before troubleshooting, first take a backup of all the system files. Then determine which component is causing the problem. Find the extent of the damage caused by this problem. Then measures should be adopted to solve the issue. If the issue cannot be solved by you alone, then Sony customer care should be contacted.

Hi,

To resolve hardware issues you will have to upgrade the motherboard BIOS. Check the APM and apply a forced close.

Disable fast shutdown via “advanced troubleshooting settings” in the operation menu under ‘Start’.

Check if all open applications have been appropriately closed, and no program is instigating a forced shutdown.

Remember, the Internet Explorer browser is resource-intensive; it occupies almost 80% of memory space and may run software that hinders the shutdown process.

Ensure that this browser is closed. Memory resident 16-bit software or bugs can easily lead to conflicts that affect the normal system shutdown process.

Use “System Configuration Utility” available under ‘System Tools’ in the ‘Start’ menu to remove or configure these viruses or files.

For those of you having this problem, Here's your answer: Make sure that the black jumper in the back of your main hard drive is set to "MA" (MASTER) as abbreviated according to the schematics shown on top of your hard drive. (On the sticker at the bottom.) Any other drives that you have such as your CD-ROM, DVD-ROM must be placed as "SL" (SLAVE) as abbreviated on the back of them. (These abbriviated letterings are stamped in the metal or plastic part in the back, it can be hard to see, use a flashlight to get a good look at it. Those of you have different brand computers, need to get into the BIOS. First, when you first turn on the computer, the post boot screen will come on, look for where it will tell you what key to press to get into the BIOS. All systems are different, some are done by pressing the F2 key, or the F11 key, others are the DEL key. On Compaqs and HP, uses the F11 key, Dells and other systems uses the F2 key. Barebone systems uses the DEL key. Once you are in the BIOS, you need to find the section on the Boot Order. Make sure the the HDD is placed as the first boot priority before any others in the listing, which means your main hard drive must be placed as a first boot device before any others that is listed.The boot order should be placed in the following order:

1. HDD (Hard Disk Drive)

2. CD-ROM

3. FDD or NET or the like. (The 3rd boot order can also be disabled by selecting it.)

Once you have the boot priority set, hit the ESC key and save the configuration. It should now boot to your main hard drive with the Windows loading on. Also, make sure there are no CDs or DVDs in your CD-ROM drive or the DVD-ROM drive before you start your computer! Good luck.

How do you change the ''FN'' key???

Hi,

Just got them working on my sz370p which is similar modl as yours.

Downloaded all drivers from sony's web site and installed them and Fn keys and fingerprinter reader worked ok.

Just make sure you are logged in as administrator and have the user account control turned off.

Norton online backup and other trial junk

Online backup services are a good way to have an offsite backup, but you must have a local backup too especially with large files because it might take several hours to recover your data in case of a hard drive crash. I use MYPCBackup, the service is reliable and not expensive.

Hi,

If Sony VAIO Z Series notebook shuts down too frequently due to overheating, then it can be an issue with the graphic card. You can resolve the issue by replacing the graphic card. The other possible solution is to clean the system from dust and try to keep its air vents open while sitting on bed as it will heat up if the air passage is blocked. Do not let the problem to prolong as it will damage the processor and the chipset. If the problem persists then contact the specialist or hardware vendor. Take care of the machine and do not let the dust to settle. You can also use an air blower to allow fresh air to circulate through the system to cool it down.
