VGN-nw20 new router but no Internet

Is this router set as a DHCP server as well? I'm not sure if your ISP would permit multiple devices to access a single broadband connection. Try to disable it (Bridge mode will be activated).

One thing that you can try also is call the support of your wireless router andhave them check on this. There must be something that you need to confgure in relation to NAT.

Hi. When you purchased your notebook. Did it come with CDs? Try to check it if you still have it because for sure, those are recovery discs and you can use it for this.

Also check the Windows logs at Event Viewer, it's under Administrative tools and check out logs that will give us any ideas on whats causing this issue.

There is also one option. Usually this can be done on notebook. Click Start-Program, then look for a folder that says something about Sony. Click that then look for any icon that says recovery or restore to factory defaults.

If your no doing a lot of gaming on your notebook, it's not a huge deal to have it install. You can never really tell the difference if you are just simply browsing the net or creating some documents.

I think this is a hardware problem. And based on experience, hardware rarely fails. I have't had any bad experiences in Sony devices.

Personally, I think it's acceptable for dark vertical lines visible after 2.5 yrs as long as not every has it. Hardware fails on a lot of factors like usage, temperature and so on.

From what I know with the other leading brands, international warranty is not possible but I would suggest to call the sales team and have this one checked.

You have two possible options here, Sony itself, if they offer it or the reseller(US Sony Outlet store). It needs to come from them.

Hi. Try to check if it is a hardware issue. If it is indeed a screen issue.

Once you turn it on, when the screen is still black and white ( before windows loads). Are those dark lines visible? If it is, it is clearly a hardware issue and the screen needs to be either fixed or replaced.

Do you mean that sounds only gets distorted when you have an active connection to the internet? Have isolating the issue? Like try playing a music file offline and see if the sound is distorted.

For laptops, most graphics are preshared with the main memory(RAM). I guess the best option here is to find the best RAM module with shared graphics on it.

Honestly, these days, notebooks and computers are not really worth reparing hardware wise. I would buy a new one, use this as an excuse.

Hi. Technically, yes, since it would be faster. But to a human eye, it won't be much of a difference.

By the way, make sure to back up all the files and just a heads upm in upgrading HDD, you will need to reinstall all your current sofateares including your OS.

Try to do a hard reset. It's like draining all the power on the motherboard. You can probably call support and have them wal you through.
