Thank you for replying Blencogo and yes I tried a few versions of the ALPS first but when they didn't work I tried the Synaptics

I upgraded my old VGN A317s with a bigger hard drive, extra ram and 32bit Windows 7, everything works perfect except for my touchpad, I can't get it to work. I have downloaded various synaptics drivers but none work, can anyone help please, thank you.
