If you can not uninstall them then don't worry about it. It just warns they may not work properly after the edit but i had no problems.

Try and get into the BIOS - probably F2 and try and reset it (check also the time in there if you can see it - is it still ticking?)

Try this - follow the instructions carefully.

I know that the problem described at the top is not the same as yours but i have also had this problem in the past and this fixed it.

Remember to uninstall all cd recording software prior to the registry fix and remember to back up your registry incase something goes wrong.

You require a Tos to mini tos connector as the one in your VAIO is a smaller version of the one on your speakers. Just search google or maplins and you will find the connector you need.

What was the software?

I am afraid whatever it was has done some registry key changing - not a major fix but knowing the program would help.

Is it XP or Vista?

Try this:

Disconnect the AC line and then the battery.

Reinsert the AC line without the battery and then try and see if it will start. If it doesn't then its probably bust.

If it does work then disconnect the AC line and reinsert the battery and allow to charge for a while and then try again.

the program itself is essential but there should not be 3 running - its an error with someones programming somewhere. But i am afraid i can't help you beyond that.

Use the reliability and performance monitor to see what disk operations are being performed.

In the start menu search type "reliability" and it should appear.

Open the disk area on the window and look at what is reading or writing the most data.

Delete all the connections created on your phone made connecting the computer.

Now just select the file in your phones file manager and then click on send to -> bluetooth or similar.

I don't believe there is an IR port and therefore no remote - bluetooth could be an option although i do not know of any MC bluetooth remotes.

SonyEricsson phones can be used as remotes within media centre.

FreeView is digital and so a standard analogue TV card will not pick it up although there are many very cheap USB devices that are about £20 - here

As long as the bluetooth is on you should just be able to send from the mobile device and a dialog box appears asking where to save the file (this for some reason hides itself below any open windows so minimise them all).

Not sure about the sound - seems odd - has it never worked? or did you install something and then is stopped working?

As for the Entertainment Platform try installing this update - restarting and then installing this one.

Sites are regional so the only way i can think of seeing the american version of this particular site is to use a proxy service based within that country like this whereby the site ign.com is achievable.

In the system tray do you have an icon with LAN and or B written on it?

If you do double click it and make sure that there is a tick next to the "enable 2.4GHz wireless lan" and click ok

I believe that Intel offer their boards with different wireless specifications and since at the time your machine was made 802.11n was only in draft 1 stage it was not a viable technology. Even now it is not a fully standardised technology being in draft 3 and is not expected to become standardised until December 2009 so if the standard changes between the draft and the final version your hardware will be obsolete.

I believe that the wireless is integrated into the main board and therefore impossible to exchange. It should be located in the underside near the wireless switch though.

Your only option is an external card.

Sony offically only support the operating system version it was released with and above which is sensible but there are a lot of users that wish to downgrade. The drivers are the main issue as they are different for different operating systems. All the drivers are available if you look for them. Your machine is a reincarnation of the older N series and so that would be a good place to start.

To install XP using your Laptop you will require a portable floppy disk drive so that you can install the SATA drivers for the installation environment. Instructions are posted all over the internet and some here.

For now i would wait and see if you have any luck with the recovery disk - if that doesn't work then post back. It could be that one of the connections to the motherboard was broken by removing/replacing the drive and may not be obvious.

Installing XP on a SATA HDD has always been a difficult affair as XP's installation environment does not natively support it.

As for the hard drive its self - is it seated into its connectors correctly?

Since you managed to install XP on the disk with another computer does it boot on that machine?

After doing so restart the machine and try again.

I had this problem for a while and this seemed to fix it.
