Ensuring your seamless transition to Channel 38
By July 2012, the 790-862 MHz spectrum band (Channels 62-69) commonly used for terrestrial television broadcasts and wireless microphones used in PMSE (Programme Making and Special Events) will no longer be available in the UK.
Sony Professional is committed to supporting you through these changes, offering our total peace of mind PrimeSupport Plus modification package. This package is offered with all sales of Digital Wireless Microphone Systems sold in the UK from July 1st 2010 until 31st March 2011*. We now also provide wireless microphone products in Channel 38, 39 and 40 bands.
You will be able to claim your PrimeSupport Plus modification package from early 2011, giving you plenty of time before the actual digital switchover in July 2012. Simply contact the PrimeSupport Helpdesk on 01256 683854, who will then arrange for your product to be collected, modified and returned to your chosen address within the UK. We expect to deliver your modified unit back within 10 working days of collection.
The PrimeSupport Plus package means you can be secure in the knowledge that there will be no additional parts, labour or shipping costs when it is time to change to Channel 38. All modifications will be carried out by Sony trained engineers in Sony authorised centres, so you can be confident that the modification will be carried out to the highest standard.

Existing DWX and WL-800 Series wireless microphone system users
If you purchased a DWX digital wireless microphone system prior to July 1st 2010, or if you are own a WL-800 Series system, Sony Professional has developed optional, chargeable PrimeSupport Plus modification packages enabling you to update your equipment to the new Channel 38 frequency from early 2011.

Please note that UWP and WRU models are beyond economic modification and so we do not plan to make available a PrimeSupport Plus modification package for those models. However, new Channel 38 models will be available from early 2011.
